How do I create a new sequence?
Tap the + button on the main screen. You can create a new sequence from scratch, choose from a template, or use AI to generate one based on your description.
How do I edit an existing sequence?
Tap on any sequence to open it, then tap the "Edit" button in the top right corner. You can add, remove, or reorder actions by dragging them.
Can I use Sequence offline?
Yes! Sequence works completely offline. All your data is stored locally on your device. The only feature that requires internet is AI generation.
How does the Live Activity work?
When you start a sequence, a Live Activity appears on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island (on supported devices). This lets you track your progress without opening the app.
How do I add a widget to my Home Screen?
Long-press on your Home Screen, tap the + button in the top left, search for "Sequence", and choose the widget size you prefer.
Is my data backed up?
Your sequences are included in your standard iCloud device backup. If you restore your device from backup, your sequences will be restored too.
How do I delete a sequence?
Swipe left on any sequence in the list and tap "Delete". Alternatively, open the sequence, tap Edit, then tap "Delete Sequence" at the bottom.
What's the difference between Countdown and Count-Up?
Countdown starts at a set time and counts down to zero (great for timed activities). Count-Up starts at zero and counts upward (great for tracking how long something takes).
How do intervals work?
Intervals automatically cycle between work and rest periods for a set number of rounds. Perfect for HIIT workouts, Tabata training, or any activity with repeated work/rest cycles.
Can I change the sounds?
Yes! Go to Settings and you can customize sounds for timers, completions, and notifications. Choose from various sound packs or set custom sounds.
You can duplicate any sequence by opening it and tapping "Duplicate" in the menu. This is great for creating variations of your favorite routines.
Troubleshooting
The app isn't making sounds
Check that your device isn't in Silent Mode (check the physical switch on the side of your iPhone). Also verify that Sequence has permission to play sounds in Settings → Sequence → Allow Notifications.
Live Activity isn't appearing
Make sure Live Activities are enabled in Settings → Sequence → Live Activities. Also check that you haven't reached the system limit for active Live Activities.
AI generation isn't working
AI generation requires an internet connection. Check your network connection and try again. If the issue persists, the service may be temporarily unavailable.
